Welcome to my website. My name is Suzy Taylor and I am a BACP registered counsellor and supervisor. Please look through these pages and contact me if you have any questions or want to discuss your needs.

Life is a journey with all its joys and challenges and along the way sometimes it is sometimes hard to keep going on our own. We may need support and encouragement from someone else to help us over an obstacle or to help us to see if there are any alternative paths to take or even just to remind us that we are on the right path after all.

What is important is that this person is reliable, trustworthy, genuine and not judgemental. Counselling can provide this support and encouragement in the safe space of the counselling room.

Feedback from many of the people I have worked with suggests that the most important aspects of this safe space are that it is confidential and that I take a neutral stance. That is, that I do not have an agenda about what should happen and that I am separate from the rest of the person's life. As a follow on from this, I believe that the relationship we develop is of paramount importance and facilitates the work that we can do together.

Sometimes it is hard to make the first step and ask for help. I hope the pages on this website will help you to feel more comfortable and confident about contacting a professional, ethical counsellor.
