Who?
Following a degree in Psychology at the University of Southampton, I initially trained as a Social Worker and spent 10 years working mainly in the Children and Family Services in London. I completed my counselling training in 1995 at West Kent College, Tonbridge. My training was predominantly Person-Centred but also incorporated Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
In 2001 I completed a further certificate in the Therapeutic Application of the Arts. This means that I have developed ways of working that encourage creativity and the use of images and metaphors, sometimes using a variety of art forms, depending on clients' choices. I am currently in training as a hypnotherapist to add these skills to my repetoire.
I gained a diploma in Individual and Group Supervision in 2002.
I am BACP registered which means that I have had sufficient training and work experience to achieve the level required by BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I abide by the BACP's ethical framework for counsellors and psychotherapists.
